Belen is a communications expert at Impacto, where she focuses on supporting organizations to communicate and report their sustainability efforts and impact to internal and external audiences. She is a communications specialist with 15 years of professional experience in planning and executing communications strategies. Her experience includes the production of communication materials and events, as well as media operations management in both the private and public sectors.
Belen is currently advising start-ups in the design of communication strategies and development of brand identity, as well as the implementation of digital campaigns. Furthermore, she supports Percy Rojas Football School; a school in based in Lima, Peru, which aims to promote values through sports. Belen designs and implements communication solutions to enhance the organization’s visibility and results.
Over the last five years, she has managed large-scale international events. She was the Head of Press Operations for the 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games, planning, implementing, and operating services for more than 2000 international media members. She was also the Communications Director for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit Peru 2016, creating the brand identity and producing communication materials. Furthermore, during the leader’s week, she was in charge of designing and delivering media conferences for the former president of the United States, Barack Obama, and for the prime minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, among other world leaders. She will be working at the Summer Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, rescheduled for 2021.
Prior to that, she worked on producing communication materials and managing events for several international organizations. Beforehand, Belen was a journalist for five years, writing for Peru’s top news media outlets about different topics, including climate change and the environment.
Belen has an MSc in Communications from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Universidad de Lima. She is fluent in Spanish, English, and French.
